CANARY ALIVE — UPDATED SEPTEMBER 3, 2026

Warrant Canary

A signed, monthly statement affirming that Candor: The Open Feed Network has not received secret government orders, national security letters, or gag orders preventing disclosure of legal process.

How to read this page: As long as this page is updated monthly with a current date and valid PGP signature, the canary is alive — no secret orders have been received. If this page stops updating, or the assertions below change, treat it as a signal that something has changed. The canary dies so we don't have to lie.

What changes to this page mean

Different changes to this page signal different things. Learn to read them.

Page updates monthly — all assertions present
The canary is alive. No secret orders have been received. Normal operation. Continue using Candor with confidence.
⚠️
One or more assertions disappear
An assertion was removed, likely because it is no longer true. We cannot say why due to legal constraints. Treat the missing assertion as the signal.
🛑
Page stops updating past the due date
The canary is dead. We have received a secret order that prevents us from maintaining it. This is the strongest signal — treat it seriously.
💀
Page is taken down entirely
The most serious signal. We have been compelled to remove the canary, which itself indicates severe legal pressure. Assume the worst.
Legal note: This warrant canary is maintained in good faith and updated monthly. It does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for security decisions. The legal status of warrant canaries in the United States remains unsettled. We maintain this canary because we believe transparency is a core obligation to our users, not because we are legally required to do so.
